Witch Hat Update!

Hello Prim Friends!

As promised, here is an update on my Witch's Hats. Due to not feeling to well these past weeks, they weren't finished in the timely manner I had hoped for. I am happy to say, they are in the finishing stage. :-)

Let me show you a little bit more of the steps I use to create them.

After cutting, sewing and stuffing the top part of the hat, (pictured in previous post) I sewed the brims and attached the top of the hat to them by whipstitching them into place. Afterwards, I put them through their first grunging process and let them air dry out on my porch for the entire day. Here is a few photos of how they looked after they were dry. Lots of cinnamon and vanilla all over them!

I painted them black, and have been playing around with some fall colored berry bunches around the brim just to see how they would look. I think they will be perfect. Now remember, I still have to sand the hats, grunge them again in my witch's brew, and add some other little embellishments before they are done. Here is a few photos of how they look right now. The berries are just sitting on the hat, they are not attached yet.

Here is my very MESSY DINING ROOM TABLE! Hubby is having a fit! Ack!!!

There you go...hopefully I will have the finished results within the next day or two. Still not feeling up to par, but I am trying. :-)

Kimmie

So cute!! It's good to have you back--I check EVERYDAY. Can't wait to see the finished product. When you put paint over the cinnamon and vanilla, does it still smell good? So fun to see such talent. Hope you are feeling better. Julie

Hi Julie!

Oh, sweetie, I haven't been feeling oh so great this summer with the heat and humidity so it really slowed me down. :-(

What I did after I painted them, was sand them real good to look worn and old...then painted on another coating of the spicy goop and dried them in the oven. I have them almost done. I just can't find my rusty safety pins! LOL! Gotta put that little bell at the top! ;-) I will be posting in a day or two. Be prepared, they are very old and grungy looking now. I can be pretty extreme when it comes to my prim creations.

Thank You, I do feel better today. Yesterday was also pretty good compared to the previous few weeks. That virus bug is just terrible.

Hugs,
Kimmie
